The Job:
- Provide expert EHS compliance program support for our clients including developing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and preparing and delivering EHS training programs
- Perform EHS compliance audits in a variety of client settings
- Prepare spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plans; stormwater pollution prevention plans; hazardous waste management plans; and other environmental plans
- Prepare written and verbal technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigations, regulatory research, evaluation of findings, and data management and interpretation
- Prepare environmental training materials
- Manage tasks and projects according to client-approved scopes of work and delivering high-quality reports on time and within budget
- Synthesize large amounts of information contained in regulatory files, environmental permits, and other environmental documentation
- Assist in the developing proposals
- Manage and develop client relationships
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Engineering, Earth Science, or a related discipline
- Eligible to sit for Certified Professional Environmental Auditor or Certified Hazardous Material Manager exam and earn credential upon hire
- 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting
- Experience with evaluating/maintaining EHS regulatory compliance in industrial settings
- Ability to work in locations that feature rough terrain and may include physical activity, such as hiking, lifting, and kneeling
- Travel up to 50% of the time. Must be willing to travel via air or land, including overnight and weekend travel. Must be comfortable traveling to remote locations.
- Working knowledge and experience with state and federal protection regulations, guidelines, and consulting processes pertaining to the specific environmental science position
- Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools
- Valid US driver’s license
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Primarily remote position but must be within a 1.5-hour commute to Annapolis, Maryland.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (EC), Certified Hazardous Material Manager, Professional Engineer (PE), Juris Doctor (JD), and/or other related environmental credentials
