Auditor (Independent Contractor)

AARCHER, INC. is seeking a motivated, highly experienced individual to join the Aarcher team to perform and lead environmental compliance audits. This position is on-call with flexible and negotiable working arrangements.
Aarcher is an environmental consulting services firm founded in 1997. Aarcher provides compliance and risk, conservation and planning, and prevention and sustainability consulting services to government and private clients nationwide. Audit locations are throughout the United States. Auditor must be located in the United States.
Field work may include physical activity, such as, hiking uneven terrain, lifting, and kneeling and remote travel.
Responsibilities:
· Serve varying roles on audit teams, including lead auditor, team auditor, or audit report support.
· Auditing assignments can include reviewing records and permits; conducting facility inspections and collecting information; taking photos of deficiencies; presenting compliance findings to facility management; and generating reports.
· Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
· Provide enthusiasm and commitment to client service and technical excellence.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Education and background: Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical science, natural science, environmental health, or equivalent with working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and experience performing multimedia compliance audits.
· At least 10 years of multimedia environmental compliance auditing experience in the United States
· Working knowledge of relevant federal regulations including, but not limited to, CAA, CWA, RCRA, SDWA, CERCLA, SPCC, Stormwater Discharge Permitting
· Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
· Problem solving and ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once.
· Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel at a minimum); GIS and GPS proficiency preferred.
· Ability to work remotely and independently while effectively collaborating with supervisor and team members.
· Experience with federal agency environmental compliance audit programs a plus
· Relevant certifications (CHMM, CPEA, JD, PE) a plus
