Aarcher Talent is seeking an EHS Manager for our client in Sparks, NV. The ideal candidate will have 10 years in EHS leadership positions and experience implementing EHS programs in heavy manufacturing industries. The Manager will work directly with production mangers, supervisors, safety champions, consultants, and vendors to maintain compliance and mitigate risk by implementing best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Coach and influence EHS team members and production safety teams(s) driving a High-Performance Safety Culture.
- Assess and evaluate process and day-to-day activities on the production floor and guide production safety teams in safe practices and adoption of best practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety risks within the production area.
- Technical consultant/subject matter expert for EHS programs such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Laboratory Safety and Radiation Safety.
- Review, participate, and coach teams in effective investigations. Ensure appropriate root cause analysis has been conducted and corrective actions have been identified and implemented.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and take steps to address or mitigate issues
- Conduct and review risk assessments. Evaluate equipment design and suggest modifications and safety improvements.
- Collect and analyze data using commercial or in-house platforms. Effectively communicate information to verify compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Conduct industrial hygiene surveys and environmental monitoring to identify and control physical, chemical, and biological hazards and workplace Assist EHS with revisions to programs, policies, workplace instructions, guidance documents, and training assist with the implementation of 6S in production areas.
- Working alone or with cross-discipline team members, complete projects to both improve processes in existing production lines and install/commission new production capacity.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports and permitting requirements as needed.
- Interact and support at all organizational levels, both internal and external to the company.
- Perform any other duties assigned by EHS leaders.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10+ years in a senior, supervisory, or managerial role related to EHS with a minimum of 3 years in a high pace/high volume manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, related branch of Engineering, Systems Safety, Biology, Chemistry/related science or technical field from an accredited four-year college or university
- Experience with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ISO, and EPA.
- Ability and willingness to respond to site emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and 6S principles
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety management systems such as ISO 45001.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, supporting, and collaborating with production safety team members.
- Experience with Behavior Based Safety programs and implementation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis and corrective action management
- Work effectively and efficiently in a cross-discipline environment as well as independently.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment and deliver against production deadlines and goals.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to give formal presentations.
- Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in EHS or technical field.
- ASP, CSP or CIH Certification(s)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employee’s, wearing PPE is a must and includes equipment such as safety shoes, clean suit, dust mask or respirator, gloves, safety glasses/safety goggles, hair net etc. In some instances, a full Tyvek Suite is required for some areas.
