Aarcher Talent is seeking Health & Safety Coordinator Assistant in Lynchburg, VA. Coordinator will be responsible for the weekly, monthly, and annual inspections for all Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) homes. The individual in this position will document deficiencies and identify and coordinate corrections to ensure a safe environment for all clients, staff, and visitors. This position will report to the Health and Safety Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulation. This position will communicate as needed with housing managers and staff to ensure compliance with life safety code, local fire code, as well as CMS as it relates to disaster preparedness.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Performs weekly visual inspections of generators at all ICF homes in accordance with the NFPA Life Safety Code.
- Performs monthly inspections at all ICF sites ensuring compliance with all State, Local, and Federal regulations.
- Conducts annual inspections at all ICF sites.
- Serves as the incident commander for all ICFs, reporting back to the EOC Coordinator if a scaled disaster event and/or directly back to the Health and Safety Director.
- Responsible for the implementation and compliance of ICF Housing relevant to the Disaster Response Program.
- Submits incidental work orders based on observations during walk-through inspections and follows up appropriately to ensure completions.
- Actively participates on the Safety Committee. Serves as back-up to the Health and Safety Officer as needed.
- Reports monthly deficiencies that were corrected and/or work orders submitted to mitigate the deficiencies.
- Will work with Health and Safety Officer to set up, document and report Point-of-Care testing when needed.
- Read and interpret floor plans
- Recognize hazardous and emergency situations and take appropriate corrective action.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate or associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or any other field that is relevant to safety management.
- One (1) year of experience with occupational safety, administering or assisting with workplace safety programs or equivalent experience orĀ an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be required to travel to different work sites during the day based on operational needs. Regular attendance at trainings and meetings may require travel to a variety of sites.
- Preferred experience in public safety or code compliance.
- CPR/First Aid
- Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code
- Ability to understand and complete the following within the first six (6) months of employment::
- FEMA/EMI IS-100 Intro Incident Command
- FEMA/EMI IS-195 Basic Incident Command
- FEMA/EMI IS-200 Basic Incident Command
- FEMA/EMI IS 700 National Incident Command System (NIMS)
- Knowledge of Virginia Fire Codes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Vizio
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, regulations, and code.
- Able to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
